This week in 2C…

WE HAVE HAD A GREAT (UNEXPECTED) 4 DAY WEEK IN YEAR 2! A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR
FAMILIES BEING SO UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORTING PUPILS WITH HOME LEARNING WHERE
POSSIBLE.
THIS WEEK IN MATHS, WE HAVE STARTED OUR ‘ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION’ TOPIC. WE BEGAN
BY RECAPPING OUR NUMBER BONDS TO 10 (TWO NUMBERS THAT ADD TOGETHER TO MAKE TEN).
WE THEN USED OUR KNOWLEDGE OF THESE TO CREATE SOME FACT FAMILIES. NEXT WEEK, WE
WILL BE USING OUR KNOWLEDGE OF NUMBER BONDS TO TEN TO HELP US WITH OUR BONDS TO
100.
IN OUR ENGLISH LESSONS THIS WEEK WE WERE EXCITED TO PLAN AND BEGIN WRITING OUR
OWN WARNING STORY. WE TRIED TO BE REFLECTIVE JUST LIKE BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY AND RE-
READ OUR SENTENCES AND EDIT USING OUR GREEN PEN.
IN GEOGRAPHY THIS WEEK WE COMPARED THE CITIES OF LEEDS & KOLKATA AND AN INDIAN
VILLAGE & THE ENGLISH COUNTYSIDE. WE IDENTIFIED SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES OF BOTH
AND THEN ANSWERED ‘I NOTICE, I WONDER, I THINK’ QUESTIONS. WE THEN WORKED IN SMALL
GROUPS TO PRESENT HOW WE KNEW A CITY WAS A CITY AND A VILLAGE, A VILLAGE BY
IDENTIFYING GEOGRAPHICAL HUMAN & PHYSICAL FEATURES.
I WILL LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU ALL IN NEXT WEEKS PARENT CONSULTATIONS.

National Poetry Day in 2C…

Poetry is used all around the world as an important way to express how people are feeling and it is a great way of storytelling.

National Poetry Day 2024 was celebrated today and is a day to highlight the impact poetry has on people’s lives.

Each year has a different theme, and this year’s theme is ‘counting’. In 2C we worked in small group to recite and add actions to some short and fun poems and rhymes…
