What a fantastic week we’ve had in 2C!
On Wednesday and Thursday, the children had the exciting opportunity to spend time with their new Year 3 teacher. They came back full of enthusiasm, sharing lots of positive comments about their new classroom and what’s to come. It’s wonderful to see them looking forward to the next step in their school journey with such confidence.
In English, we’ve started our new non-fiction unit all about writing instructions. The children have been exploring the uplifting text Recipe for Happiness and really brought it to life by adding fun actions to match the words – a brilliant way to build engagement and understanding.
In Maths, we’ve been revisiting key learning from earlier in the year. This week’s focus has been on place value and addition. The children have worked hard to consolidate their understanding through a variety of hands-on, engaging activities.
In Art, we’ve taken inspiration from the incredible Frida Kahlo. The children created beautiful self-portraits, experimenting with colour mixing and collage techniques. However, we’re not giving away any sneaky peeks just yet – we’re saving these masterpieces for our Wonderful Women Exhibition on Friday! We can’t wait for you to see them.
